3. PRACTICAL COURSE:
In the practical course, the student works as an assistant trainer under the direction of a WWS head instructor directly at the school in order to then obtain practice-oriented training as a Watersport teacher.
By working at the school, conducting courses and holding and grading exams, along with the overall organisation, the instructor-candidate receives realistic training and experience in the management of a water sports centre.
Depending on the license, the instructor-candidate’s practical training takes at least 14 days. (about 70 to 90 practical hours at minimum) An extension for a better practical Knowledge of the training is possible with the agreement of the instructor.
The instructor-candidate´s existing practical and theoretical knowledge is decisive for the duration of the practical course. it also depends of the conditions during the practical course (e.g. weather conditions and number of students available in the pre- and post-season).
A shorter duration of training is possible in exceptional cases.
Course contents of the practical training
- Holding beginning and advanced Courses
- Children's courses as well as individual and group Courses
- Instruction with technical equipment: simulators, boats, buoys, videos, projectors, boards, etc.
- Theory lessons and exam preparation for the students

4. EXAMINATION
Theory examination:
This consists of an oral exam and a written exam. Depending on the level of the student’s training, it can be taken as multiple exams during the practical training in order to give the trainer an opportunity to supplement the student’s knowledge as preparation. The exam questions are taken from the question-and-answer complex of the distance learning course. Additional questions concerning the water sports area and the school’s training mode are possible.
Practical examination:
The practical evaluation of the trainee candidate extends over the entire period of practical training in order to obtain a realistic overall picture of the trainee’s level of proficiency. How successfully the treinee teaches the students and the proper execution of watersport-student-courses in terms of methodology and didactics form the most important criteria.
Practical surfing requirements:
Safe mastery of Kite/SUP/Sailing/Wingfoiling or Windsurfing with the corresponding techniques and manoeuvres, including in conditions with strong winds.
